Hawkins Parnell & Young, LLP’s Dallas office seeks a highly-motivated litigation attorney with 5+ years of experience, preferably in defending personal injury cases with extensive knowledge of Texas law and procedure. The successful candidate must be capable of preparing a case for trial, second chairing some trials, and trying some cases on their own.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparing for trial, including strategy discussion, discovery, records review, client interviews and witness preparation
• Researching, both legal and factual investigation
• Drafting of briefs, memos, and client updates
• Attending depositions, hearings, and mediations
• Managing a caseload of litigated claims

Skills and Educational Requirements:

• Previous litigation experience required, including deposition and courtroom experience
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
• Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing demands and understand the importance of deadlines
• Has a client-focused mentality
• Takes initiatives and welcomes challenges
• Intellectually curious, keeping current on litigation trends and recent legal opinions
